GHRA, Private Sector Receive CERT Training August 25, 2008
Guam Homeland Security and the Office of Civil Defense in coordination with the Guam Citizen Corps Program will be hosting a Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) Training for local private sector partners from August 26-27, 2008, at the Guam Police Department's Dededo Precinct.
94th CST to Host Training on Chemical Agents of Opportunity July 15, 2008
The Guam National Guard's 94th Civil Support Team (CST) in coordination with the Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry (ATSDR) and the American College of Medical Toxicology will be hosting Chemical Agents of Opportunity for Terrorism: Toxic Industrial Chemicals and Toxic Industrial Materials on July 17th and 18th at the Holiday Resort Guam.
Facilitated by board certified and trained medical toxicologists, this course will alert local emergency response personnel on how to recognize, respond to and prepare for attacks that often originate from common chemicals and industrial materials.
School Officials to Recieve Training on Multi-Hazard Planning July 15, 2008
Guam Homeland Security and the Office of Civil Defense will be hosting the Multi-Hazard Planning Workshop for Schools on July 16, 2008, at the Westin Resort, Tumon.
This workshop is aimed at strengthening the emergency response capabilities of all the island’s schools through providing administrators and principals with the knowledge, skills and tools needed to develop and enhance their all-hazards emergency plans.
GPD and Citizen Corps to Launch Citizens Police Academy June 23, 2008
The Guam Police Department in coordination with the Guam Citizen Corps Program is offering a Citizens Police Academy to strengthen the bond of friendship and cooperation between our citizens and our police department. The objective of the Citizens Police Academy is not to prepare graduates to become police officers, but instead to instill in citizens a greater knowledge of the many functions of the Guam Police Department. To attend, citizens must meet the following established criteria: a) participants must be at least twenty one (21) years of age and, b) must pass a background investigation check and, c) must pass and provide drug test results.
